About PassportRenewalCost.com
An independent reference for the cost of renewing a passport, focused on the UK and US issuing authorities. Operated by Digital Signet, founded by Oliver Wakefield-Smith. Each country's fees are taken from that government's own published schedule.
Why we built it
Passport renewal fees are set by each issuing authority and published on the official government site. The official sites are authoritative on the fee but rarely make it easy to compare options at a glance: standard vs fast-track in the UK, routine vs expedited in the US, paper vs online, adult vs child, photo costs, postage. Most top-ranking pages are owned by third-party 'expediter' services pushing toward a paid concierge offering. This site exists to publish the official fees per country with side-by-side practical context.

About the studio
This site is operated by Digital Signet, an independent AI-development studio founded by Oliver Wakefield-Smith. It is part of a portfolio of consumer cost-reference and calculator sites we run as a live R&D lab for our Signet methodology, an autonomous AI development team that ships real software at scale.
Digital Signet does not sell passport-expediter services, does not run a passport-photo business, does not act as a travel agency, and does not accept paid placements from any expediter or photo service. Editorial direction is set by Oliver. Drafts are produced via Digital Signet's autonomous AI development methodology and reviewed against the editorial framework before publication.

What we hold to
- Source pattern. One authoritative source per provider, cited per page.
- No paid placements. Does not sell passport-expediter services, does not run a passport-photo business, does not act as a travel agency, and does not accept paid placements from any expediter or photo service. Independent of every named third party in the relevant space.
- Math is documented inline. Where the site has a calculator, inputs and assumptions are visible on the calculator page. Nothing is hidden behind opaque scoring.
- Update only when underlying reality changes. Triggers: UK Home Office or US State Department publishes a fee change; New issuing-authority option (e.g. additional UK fast-track or US emergency processing route).
